A state of emergency has been issued for Alabama and other states ahead of a suspected gasoline shortage due to an oil spill that occurred in Birmingham's Shelby County recently.
The gasoline pipe spill released approximately 250,000 gallons of gas and has greatly impacted major pipelines in other cities and states.
According to Al.com, a representative from Colonial Pipeline, stated, "Based on current projections and consultations with industry partners, parts of Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina will be the first markets to be impacted by any potential disruption in supply."
