Mayor William A. Bell, Sr. joined SARCOR President Selena Rodgers Dickerson, the City of Birmingham's Economic Development Department, Birmingham Business Alliance, REV Birmingham and other members of the Birmingham community to cut the ribbon on the new Installation at Uptown office building last week.
The event celebrated the renovation of the former Jefferson County Employee’s Credit Union, which will now serve as the headquarters for SARCOR engineering company and other tenants.
The Installation at Uptown, located at 2112 12th Ave. N., is the culmination of a six-year collaboration between a minority startup owner, Selena Rogers Dickerson, and a host of business growth agencies including the City of Birmingham’s Office of Economic Development, REV Birmingham, the Birmingham Business Alliance, ALDOT DBE Supportive Services and the Mentor Protégé Programs, and BancorpSouth.
SARCOR will occupy the second floor of the newly renovated building. The entire 16,743-square-foot building is owned by Dickerson and Corporate Realty will handle office leasing in the portion of the building not occupied by SARCOR.
