We present the question: Has 30-year old, Carmelo Anthony, just given up on the NBA? Some New York fans may be nodding their heads vigorously to this sentiment. Mellow is out again for the season for an inevitable knee surgery that many are stating was put off way too long. Why postpone the surgery after sitting out several games during the season, but still participate in the 2015 All-Star Game? What was the objective there? Keep in mind that the decision was entirely Anthony’s prerogative, not ours to make for him.
Anthony faced criticisms head on stating in short, he’s done is his part and even played in games that could have jeopardized his health in order to steer his team to a victory the best he could. He also stated that being a part of the All-Star Game was for his fans. The fact that he was present at the game may not have riled fans, but the time extension of how long he was present definitely did. Anthony played 30 minutes in the All-Star Game.
With Anthony being in his 12th NBA season, we have to ask, is there still juice left in the fire? Will his legs withstand many more extensive seasons in the NBA? Can he turn the 10-30 franchise around next season? Only time will tell, but you can weigh in now with our poll below!
